We’re proud to announce that our co-founder, Lavi Chandra, has been appointed to the inaugural TASS-Middle East Advisory Board. This exciting milestone reflects the growing commitment to sustainability in education across the UAE and the wider Middle East region.
What is TASS?
The Alliance for Sustainability in Schools (TASS) brings together schools and key stakeholders across the region to accelerate the transition to a sustainable future. The newly formed TASS-Middle East Advisory Board includes six exceptional leaders with deep experience in education, sustainability, and community engagement: Brett Girven, Caroline Rennie, David May, Lakmee Senadheera, Shaheen Sheikh, and Lavi Chandra.
Lavi’s journey with TASS
Lavi first met the TASS team at the COP28 UAE conference in 2023, where global leaders gathered to discuss climate action and sustainable development. As a catering provider in Dubai schools, sustainability has always been a key point of focus for us. However, Lavi has been passionate about going beyond good intentions and developing a concrete action plan to make it a core priority across all our processes.
After making the initial connection at COP28, she followed up, dedicating a significant amount of personal time to advancing sustainability initiatives. She enjoys working with the schools and students in our network, ensuring they understand the issues and helping them develop creative solutions together.
Our commitment to sustainable catering in Dubai

- Using eco-friendly packaging across all our school meal programs
- Transitioning to an electric delivery fleet to reduce our carbon footprint
- Reducing food waste through careful planning and portion control
- Sourcing responsibly from trusted local suppliers where possible
- Educating students about sustainable food choices
Supporting sustainable schools in the UAE
Schools play a vital role in shaping the next generation’s understanding of sustainability and environmental responsibility. Through our work with schools across the UAE, we’re committed to supporting sustainable practices in education and helping students become champions for change.
Lavi’s appointment to the TASS-Middle East Advisory Board is a natural extension of this commitment. We’re excited to be part of this important work and to collaborate with other leaders in the education sector who share our vision for a sustainable future.
Looking ahead
Congratulations to all the board members and to TASS on this exciting milestone. We’re looking forward to what’s ahead as we work together to accelerate the transition to a sustainable future in schools across the Middle East.
